The Kitchen Dresser with Glass Doors is an elegant evolution of our signature dresser, offering a refined way to protect and display your most cherished belongings. This piece beautifully illustrates Charles Shackleton’s philosophy on the versatility of the form:

“Dressers, apart from being popular items these days hold a surprising amount and variety of stuff. In Ireland, where I am from, everything from chickens to the family’s papers, was stored in the kitchen dresser. That is, of course, apart form the usual collection of pottery and glass”.

This iteration adds a layer of sophisticated protection, making it a masterclass in artisanal detail:

Features & Craftsmanship

  • Six-Pane Glazed Doors: The upper hutch features two doors with traditional six-pane glazing, allowing for a clear view of your collections while keeping them protected from dust.

  • Hand-Carved "Berry" Dentil Molding: A hallmark of our workshop, the delicate "berry" dentil molding is hand-carved beneath the crown, providing a rich architectural texture.

  • Applied Bead Detailing: A fine applied bead surrounds the doors and drawers, creating subtle shadows that highlight the precision of the handmade construction.

  • Hand-Cut Dovetail Joinery: Each of the three drawers is built with authentic hand-cut dovetails, ensuring the piece remains structurally sound for generations.

  • Hand-Turned Knobs: Tactile, hand-turned wooden knobs provide a soulful, organic connection to the maker on every drawer and door.

  • Adjustable Internal Storage: The lower cabinet includes a full-length adjustable shelf, offering flexible space for larger items, while the upper hutch provides three levels of display.

The Kitchen Dresser with Glass Doors is a durable work of art, typically crafted in solid American cherry to develop a rich, warm patina that anchors the home with history and grace.

Great Book.
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant. Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.

Format: Paperback
Excellent articulation of the Black Power initiative within the Civil Rights Movement. A detailed view of Black Power, it's objectives, how these would be achieved, as well as it's misinterpretations. An afterword from each author appended in 1992 provides insight, reflection, and perspective on all that's changed, and what hasn't, since the book's publishing.
