This beautiful bias-cut dress by Stavropoulos is a rare and special find! It is made of a sheer black fabric lined in solid black through the body, and embellished with soft white and metallic gold eyelash dots to create a stunning motif. It has long sheer sleeves that button at the wrist and have a gentle puff at the shoulders. The silhouette is relaxed through the body, and the skirt is seamed diagonally, creating a full, fishtail that swishes as you move. The fishtail panel is seamed diagonally along the side, where the back of the dress falls to a point at the centre. It zips up at centre back.

Stavropoulos was a Greek designer from the 1950s to the 1990s, who moved to New York and began selling his eponymous fashion line to a celebrity clientele and on Fifth Avenue. He was known for his bias cut silk chiffon dresses, and the fluid, flattering fits of his garments. He dressed Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Barbra Streisand, and many other aristocratic women. You'll feel so glamorous when you wear this dress!
