This ultra rare and totally dreamy Chanel ivory floral silk appliquéd mini dress dates back to Karl Lagerfeld's epic 2013 Cruise Collection. Karl Lagerfeld was creative director at Chanel from 1983 until his passing in 2019, redefining the house through a balance of heritage and modernity. His work transformed the house into a continuously evolving force, merging couture craftsmanship with cultural relevance. The 2013 cruise collection stands as one of Lagerfeld’s most imaginative presentations—a high-fashion reimagining of the 18th-century French court staged within the gardens of the Château de Versailles. Drawing inspiration from Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, the pieces blended ornate historical references—ruffles, petticoats, and court dressing—with unexpected contemporary elements like platform creeper shoes and pastel bob wigs. It remains one of the most memorable resort collections ever produced, and certainly a personal favorite. Even more compelling, this dress is a rare archival sample, completely unworn and accompanied by its original $26,010 price tag.

Seen on the runway as look 46, modeled by Cora Emmanuel, the dress captures the collection’s romantic yet playful tone. The silhouette is softly structured through the bodice before releasing into a dramatic flared mini skirt, giving you that unmistakable Rococo vibe. This stunning dress is crafted from sheer white silk featuring a large-scale watercolor floral in hues of pink, lavender, and light blue. Raw-edged ruched silk in coordinating tones trims the shoulders, sleeves, and waistline, while also forming delicate textural accents across the front. The bodice is particularly striking, cut in sheer silk that reveals just enough while maintaining coverage with an ivory silk underlayer at the bust. That same lining extends into a layered full skirt, adding magnificent volume and shape—an intentional nod to 18th-century fashion. Our favorite detail is the couture-level intricate embellishment: clusters of white faux-leather flowers, each centered with a tiny bead, arranged across the bodice in a motif that feels both graphic and delicate. Up close, you see the level of handwork involved, which immediately sets the piece apart. From the back, the dress remains clean and refined, allowing the print and construction to take focus. Pieces from this collection are increasingly difficult to source, especially an unworn example. When you put this masterpiece on, you feel the balance of artistry and "it girl" factor that defined Lagerfeld’s legacy.

An interesting, if a little derivative, take on Wolvie’s origins
Format: Kindle
At this point Wolverine origin stories are a dime a dozen and they all will inevitably be held to the standard of the classic Barry Windsor-Smith Weapon X series and while this book tries to reach those heights, it doesn’t quite make it in terms of its writing, it does rival it in terms of art tho, which is nice. Again, another book I wish I could give half stars with because my rating for this book is closer to a 3.5 stars and it’s mostly carried by the art, but it’s leaning closer to the upper half of that rating so that’s why I went with 4. Regardless, my biggest issue comes from the fact that by and large it isn’t THAT different from the usual Wolvie origin story that was established in 616, the whole concept of Logan being the Winter Soldier isn’t used to its fullest potential because (spoilers) it’s tragically short lived, as he is back with this universe’s equivalent of the 616 X-Men by the end of Issue #6; I will say that what little there is of him being the Winter Soldier is cool as hell thanks to Cappuccio's artwork. Seriously, that is the best part of the book: Alessandro Cappuccio's artwork. I loved him on Moon Knight and I love him here, he is a master of delivering high impact artwork whenever it’s needed. Overall it’s a solid book that didn’t take much advantage of its interesting new premise before returning to status quo, but it’s at least carried by some killer artwork.
